Allocation of travel grants in June 2023

The college of the Performing Arts Centre of Iceland concluded the allocation of travel grants on 27 June 2023, which were advertised for application on 26 May. A total of 15 applications for travel grants were received for 47 individuals, totalling ISK 3,550,000. The allocation this time was ISK 1,425,000. When selecting projects, the aim was to generate interest, increase visibility and demand Icelandic performing arts works outside Iceland.

The college for this round of applications consisted of Þóra Einarsdóttir, Friðþjófur Þorsteinsson and Rebekka A. Ingimundardóttir. Fridrik Fridriksson chaired meetings of the college on behalf of the Performing Arts Centre.

Allocation of Performing Arts Center travel grants 27 June 2023:

  • Margaret Erla Maack: 150.000 ISK, for Wilfredo a gogo's exhibition tour to Copenhagen, Helsinski and Tallinn.
  • Lovísa Ósk Gunnarsdóttir: 450.000 ISK, for When the bleeding stops tour at Norma Festival in the Czech Republic.
  • Katrín Gunnarsdóttir: 375.000 ISK, for an exhibition tour with Alda to Tampere in Finland.
  • The Cultural Society sells: 75.000 ISK, for an exhibition tour with Þoka to Harstad in Norway.
  • Spindrift: $225,000, for a tour with Them at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
  • Yelena Arakelow: 150.000 ISK, for a tour with Waiting for a Dance to Vilnius in Lithuania.
