Allocation of travel allowances in January 2024

The college of the Performing Arts Centre of Iceland concluded the allocation of travel grants on 12 February 2024, which were advertised for application on 4 January. A total of 14 applications were received for travel grants for 48 individuals, totalling ISK 3,850,000. The allocation this time was ISK 2,475,000. When selecting projects, the aim was to generate interest, increase visibility and demand Icelandic performing arts works outside Iceland.
The college for this round of applications consisted of Friðþjófur Þorsteinsson, Ólafur Kjartan Sigurðsson and Rebekka A. Ingimundardóttir. Friðrik Friðriksson chaired meetings of the college on behalf of the Performing Arts Centre.

The tasks selected by the college for this assignment are:

Lovísa Ósk Gunnarsdóttir - 375.000 kr.  to take the dance performance "When the bleeding stops" to festivals in Ljubljana and Budapest in October 2024
Erna Ómarsdóttir and Shalala - 225.000 kr. to take the dance performance "IBM a user's manual" to a festival in Italy in July 2024.
Spindrift Theatre Group - 300.000 kr.
to take the theatrical show "Them" to China in June 2024
Circus Arts Association - 600.000 kr. to perform the Sikh exhibition "The Sea Monsters" at Festspillerne in northern Norway in June 2024.
Margrét Erla Maack - 300.000 kr to take a burlesque show on tour to Sweden, Finland and Denmark in February 2024.
Ásrún Magnúsdóttir - 600.000 kr
to take the show "The teenage songbook of love and sex" to Germany in June 2024.
Greta Clough - 75.000 kr. to present works at the Bibu Festival in Sweden in May 2024.

A total of ISK 2,475,000 is allocated to 7 performing arts groups for 32 individuals for exhibition tours during the year.
