Performing Arts Centre Iceland started in 2022 and is founded by all the main stakeholders within the performing arts in Iceland. The centre is run with support from the Ministry of Culture and Commerce.

Performing Arts Centre Iceland plays a role in supporting Icelandic performing arts and increasing their visibility and complicity in Iceland and abroad.

Performing Arts Centre grants to performing artists on exhibition tours abroad or participation in events aimed at attracting interest, increasing visibility and demand for performing arts outside Iceland. Then provides Performing Arts Centre grants for translation of Icelandic stage projects for transport outside Iceland.
